The Wheatsheaf welcomes walkers offering free walking packs (the Dales Pack by walking-books.com)  with 20 different local walks of varying difficulty, to enable our visitors to find walks which suit them.

We also provide boot trays in every room as well as excellent tea, coffee, and Galaxy hot chocolate in the rooms for when you get in from an exhilarating walk.

The Wheatsheaf in Wensleydale is perfectly placed for those wishing to explore the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. With walks for visitors of all ages and abilities, and plenty of sights to see too, there is no excuse not to come and experience all that we have to offer. Centrally located on the Bolton Castle-Aysgarth Falls circular route, excellent walks are literally on your doorstep.

Pet Friendly

We love dogs so much at the Wheatsheaf that we give them a holiday for just £10 – regardless of their length of stay. So why not bring your best friend with you?  We welcome dogs in all of our rooms, except our superior doubles, which are kept pet-free for those with allergies.

Dogs are also welcome to sit with you during breakfast, in the bar, or during your evening or lunchtime meals.

Home-cooked food and award winning Breakfast

All of our room rates include a free full English breakfast, which was recently awarded a Visit England Breakfast Award. We have a good variety of food available which is all made using locally sourced ingredients. All meat and eggs are from W.S. Hartle Butchers in West Burton.
