Northern Guiding Tour Walking Yorkshire Dales

Northern Guiding is managed by a passionate outdoor enthusiast helping others to enjoy the great outdoors and to achieve their goals. Based in Leeds, Northern Guiding is led Mark Killala, a qualified Mountain Leader who holds first aid qualifications and is fully insured. Most of the events listed in our calendar pages will be led by Mark and sometimes with the help of  hand picked instructors. The Scottish Winter Hill courses will be with a qualified Winter Mountain Leader hand picked by me. Halton Gill Bunk Barn

Halton Gill Bunk Barn is situated at the head of Littondale, the most quiet and beautiful part of the Yorkshire Dales, in the centre of the National Park. It lies at the foot of Penyghent, one of the famous Three Peaks, near the Pennine Way and the Dales Way, and the area is criss-crossed by a number of public footpaths. The Bunk Barn sleeps 40 people in 8 separate bedrooms. At the entrance is a large, efficient drying room, where we also keep the playfield games and equipment. The covered entrance porch leads to a large slate-flagged reception hall. In the hall are some comfy chairs, the phone, and a football table. The Finnish Sauna is located just off the main hall.

River House, Malham

A Victorian Country house, originally built in 1664, offering superb breakfasts. Centrally located in this beautiful Malhamdale Village amidst stunning scenery, with the Pennine way and other walking and cycling routes running just past the front door. A warm welcome awaits you on your arrival.

The White Lion Inn, Cray

Nestled beneath Buckden Pike, The White Lion Inn is a former drovers hostelry set in the splendid surroundings of Upper Wharfedale. Taken over and refurbished during 2015 the Inn has been tastefully restored to its traditional form with original beams, open log fire and stone flagged floors. Our nine luxury ensuite rooms blend modern facilities with traditional Yorkshire charm.

Low Raisgill Bed & Breakfast, Yockenthwaite

Situated between the hamlets of Hubberholme and Yockenthwaite in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, Low Raisgill B&B is a 17th century stone farm cottage with magnificent views of hay meadows, moorland and Buckden Pike. All of our guest bedrooms are on the first floor; three have en-suite shower facilities and the fourth has the exclusive use of a private bathroom.

The George & Dragon use local meat suppliers Peggleside Farm for their sausages, and Hacra Farm for their beef, vegetables are from powells in Sedbergh, and our eggs are supplied by a local farmer.
