The White Lion
The White Lion Inn, Cray
Nestled beneath Buckden Pike, The White Lion Inn is a former drovers hostelry set in the splendid surroundings of Upper Wharfedale. Taken over and refurbished during 2015 the Inn has been tastefully restored to its traditional form with original beams, open log fire and stone flagged floors. Our nine luxury ensuite rooms blend modern facilities with traditional Yorkshire charm.
Hand pulled ales, regularly changing fresh cooked menu and luxurious accommodation means The White Lion Inn is the ideal destination. With glorious walks on our door step it’s also perfect for dogs and their walkers, who are all welcome to stay.

A refreshing pint, a glass of wine or a warming nip, our bar is open from midday everyday, welcoming everybody two and four legged. There’s a great range of draught lager, cider and hand pulled ales. The bar specialises in ales sourced from independent Yorkshire brewers and specialist Yorkshire gins.
Enjoy drinking and dining surrounded by original stone flagged floors, roaring open fire and traditional beamed ceiling. Alternatively relax in our cosy snug with log burning stove and comfortable chesterfield sofas. Ideal for an after dinner retreat or to while away a lazy afternoon.
In finer weather, enjoy sitting outside watching and listening to the river Wharfe cascade down Cray Gill. Stepping stones across the river lead to open fells and spectacular views of Wharfedale.
