Friendly owners, beautiful spacious room with character, fabulous view from bathroom, good food, good beers and best night's sleep in months. Breakfast was enormous and delicious.

“Lovely views great breakfast”

Booked through - unfortunately went to Pateley Bridge first as that was the address given on the site - it is in fact at Dacre Bank. Lovely place; very quiet. The pub is really nice; typical old fashioned pub how they used to be - very welcoming. Just three rooms. Our room was at the back - great view...

“Lovely pub with decent grub!”

We were staying locally, so decided to walk down to The Royal Oak on a Wednesday night. On arrival, the bar area was busy, however the restaurant area was quieter so we sat in there. The views overlooking Nidderdale from where we were sat were stunning - and it's worth pointing out that they have a beer garden for when...

“Good pub food”

Good quality food in a nice friendly pub atmosphere. Worth booking in advance as they were turning people away - in March! Within walking distance of Spring Wood Lodges - although it is all uphill on the way back!

“Great hosts, amazing food, wonderful range of drinks and good accommodation”

Great hosts, amazing food, wonderful range of drinks and good accommodation. Steve & Anna can't do enough for you. Lots of events and fundraisers. Always something to do and/or look forward to. Friendly locals - look out for the bottom step ;-)

“A wonderful place to stay and/or eat”

My wife and I are both 60yr and we have stayed at the Royal Oak for the same weekend for several years. The hosts Steve and Anna couldn't be better, friendly and ideally suited to running a pub/hotel. The room we stay in is comfortable with a small en-suite. The rooms and en-suite are bound to be smaller than a...

“Good pub and good food”

We ate here a couple of times over our week away and thought it was a great place. We had booked ahead in case it was busy, but there was no need. However we did get a great table by the fire. The food was of a very high quality and cooked to perfection. A good choice of wines and...
