We were out having a nice Sunday drive and reached this pub at lunch time so thought we'd stop and see if there was any room. We were given a table inside near the fire. We both opted for a roast beef Sunday lunch which was really good. You get huge pieces of yorkshire pudding as well as beef, roast potatoes and mash and veggies. It was quite busy even outside as the weather was pretty good. We couldn't manage a dessert as we were so full from the main course.
“Damn, this place is good!”
Was staying in the area with friends and found this place after a good walk on the nearby hills. A very friendly welcome, excellent local beers and food that was absolutely brilliant - and great value for money. Six of us had different meals (or combinations thereof) and everything was brilliant. We kept stealing bits off each other's plates! The beef dripping chips are superb.
“Great food n beer, cosy & welcoming”
We pop into this lovely old pub in Litton about once a year after a long walk in this beautiful dale. Same owners for the last 5 years and standards are still high. Fab hot water pastry steak n ale pie, chips cooked in beef dripping, and buttery greens, washed down with moreish Littondale best bitter. Roaring fires in both rooms. Perfect!
“Lovely, cosy, traditional pub set in picturesque Yorkshire Dales”
A lovely, warm little pub with beautiful traditional interior and roaring fireplace. The staff were friendly but it was the food that really made our experience memorable. The food is great value for money - if anything there was more food than we could manage! But there's a lot of really delicious options to choose from and the atmosphere was great!
“Cosy Overnight Stay”
Came for a Birthday night stay over. Quiet get-a-way !! Comfy bed, beautiful food, roaring fire in friendly bar. Felt very special. In a pretty dale with footpath next to pub - can do short or long walks. Couldn't ask for more. Is in the sticks not lots nearby perfect for quiet get-a-way.
“Meal for two”
A Saturday night without the kids and we fancied a cosy pub meal. Been meaning to try the queens arms for ages so were pleased when we rang ahead and they had tables free. The bar was busy so we were asked if the restaurant would be ok even though we would be the only people in it. Despite us being the sole diners there was still a lovely cosy atmosphere with the roaring wood burning stove and rustic furniture. I ordered prawn curry and my other half had fish and chips. Both were really tasty, fresh and a good size portion. We both had sticky toffee pudding which was delicious. Staff were friendly and efficient. A really lovely relaxed evening.
