Nestling beneath the rising fells of Langstrothdale, the inn stands in a stunning location overlooking the infant river Wharfe.

The George is centrally located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and is ideal for touring, cycling or walking being directly on one of the most popular of all the walks - the Dales Way.

Well appointed and very comfortable En-suite Accommodation available in our 6 letting bedrooms. We have four rooms located in the main pub building on the first floor and two more rooms in the coach house. Five rooms are en-suite. One of the coach house rooms is located on the ground floor and is more suitable for those who cannot manage steps easily.

Enjoy the beauty of the Dales and then relax in our Traditional and Historic Dales Country Inn, with excellent food and beer and a warm friendly welcoming atmosphere.

We welcome well behaved dogs in the bar and have one dog friendly letting room.

ROOMS

After your day's activities relax by the open fire, enjoy good home-cooked food, a taste of real ale or a bottle of wine and convivial company - then retire to one of six en-suite rooms.

Many of our rooms have mullioned windows with window seats, good countryside views and exposed original stone walls. Please request your preference when booking, it may depend on availability.

Five rooms are en-suite with bath or shower, heating and a complimentary tray.

For the comfort and safety of all our visitors, rooms are strictly non smoking. Rooms available after 4pm. All major credit and debit cards are accepted ( with the exception of American Express ).

FOOD

We pride ourselves on providing high quality traditional "pub food" using locally sourced ingredients, whenever possible. Enjoy our flavoursome local lamb or steak cooked to your requirements followed by tasty traditional puddings... 

After a day touring or walking enjoy food served in the cosy surroundings of our Traditional Country Inn, by the open fire or in our dining room, complimented by our range of cask beers and an excellent selection of wines and Malts. Or call in for a light lunch on your way...

We provide a range of food from a lunch time sandwich and home made soups to full three courses served on our evening menu.

Booking is advisable to avoid disappointment, especially in the Sumner season.
