One of Yorkshire's hidden gems, No.3 at Settle has been renovated and refurbished to provide all modern comforts whilst keeping the essential period feel of this historic house. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail.
There is a lovely walled garden with spectacular views for you to relax in.
No.3 is situated just a stone's throw from all the town's amenities and yet in a quiet enough corner to be peaceful at night.
Whether you want an activity holiday, a romantic break or a relaxing getaway with a bit of walking and some great food we look forward to welcoming you and making it a memorable stay.

Leave the pressures of modern life at the door and let us pamper you
Relax and recharge in an elegantly proportioned, spacious room with a sumptuous king sized bed and a cosy window seat. Gaze out over High Hill and Castleberg crag while you enjoy tea, coffee and some home-made goodies from your room tray. Help yourself to fresh milk and chilled mineral water from the fridge on the landing.
Wallow in a slipper bath or refresh with a power shower in a stunning bathroom with a view.
Our mattresses are the highest quality, our sheets high thread count Egyptian cotton and our towels fluffy. We have sourced some lovely, locally made luxury bath products for you to enjoy.
All the rooms have smart TVs and wifi, and hairdryers. If you've left anything at home, let us know and we'll do our best to help.
Please check in from 3pm and check out by 11am.
Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements or if there is something you would particularly like. If you give us a bit of notice we will do everything we can to provide what you fancy. We make every effort to source the best quality, locally produced foodstuffs. We ate a lot of sausages and bacon before we hit upon the Blue Pig company in Long Preston. They provide us with delicious, free rangeand home cured products.
The No.3 Yorkshire breakfast is served in our dining room overlooking the garden. If the weather is fine you may like to eat outside. If you let us know the night before, we'd be happy to bring you breakfast in your room and fetch the papers.
No.3 special home made granola
Croissants fresh from the Aga
Any combination of the following:
Blue Pig bacon
Blue Pig sausages
(or try a Blue Pig pork and black pudding sausage)
Free range eggs, fried or scrambled
oven roasted vine tomatoes
Juice, Yorkshire tea or coffee
If you're heading out from the house on one of the fantastic scenic walks we can suggest for you, how about asking us to pack a picnic rucksack for you? There's nothing like a selection of fresh, tasty sandwiches, home made fruitcake and Wensleydale eaten whilst gazing out on a stunning view.
We can provide more elaborate picnics too: ask us for our picnic menu. How about a champagne picnic to take on board the Settle to Carlisle railway?
Please give us 24 hours notice.
We'd be happy to provide a three course dinner for a minimum of six people by prior arrangement. Ask us for some menu suggestions or let us know what you would like. Special occasions can be catered for and we'd be happy to either make a cake or order one from our local celebration cake maker.
If you're likely to be arriving late and tired after a long journey, we can provide anything from soup and sandwiches to some hearty comfort food we can keep hot until you get here.
Lots to see and do
Settle is on the edge of the Dales National Park and is a popular destination for walkers and cyclists, cavers and climbers. It is on the popular Way of the Roses cycle route from Morecambe to Bridlington. We can provide secure storage for bikes and there are several hire companies in Settle.
We'd be happy to advise on walks for all abilities, whether you want a fairly gentle walk with a cafe in the middle and a pub at the end or whether you are aiming for the 10 mile "Settle loop" or the 3 peaks challenge. The three peaks are easily accessible by road or rail.
You can see the start of the Attermire scar walk from the house and if you have the energy to climb the hill you will be rewarded by the most spectacular views and caves where the remains of hippos, lions, bears and wolves have been found.
Climbing Castleberg Crag (the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain) is easier than it looks and is worth it for the view.
We have facilities for storing boots and for drying out wet clothes.
The river Ribble is renowned for its fishing. There are salmon ladders built into the weirs and if you are lucky enough, in the Autumn, you can see the salmon leaping on their way to spawn. Even if the salmon are nowhere to be seen the river walks are stunning.
The Lake District is only 40 minutes drive away and you could be in Scotland by train in two hours. The quaint and beautiful Settle Station is a very short walk from the house and Settle to Carlisle is acknowledged to be the most scenic railway journey in the UK. There are regular trains to Leeds.
Settle has some lovely shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants so you needn't travel anywhere. We even have a theatre! However, if you do wish to strike out, we can advise you on places to visit and where the best shops are.
If you feel like being pampered there is a beauty Spa and gym just a short walk from the house and a variety of hairdressers. Let us know if you would like us to make appointments for you or, for parties, we can arrange for beauty therapists and hairdressers to come to the house.
