The Barbon Inn, Kirby Lonsdale

A warm, welcome awaits you at The Barbon Inn - a family run, traditional 17th century Coaching Inn. The Barbon Inn and Restaurant near Kirkby Lonsdale has been around since the 1650s and started life as a farmhouse. Situated in the peaceful and tranquil village of Barbon, this country inn offers old world elegance in its accommodation restaurant and pub.

The inn has an excellent wine list which has been a labour of love for one of the owners, and she will help you select from the connoisseurs list.

The Barbon Inn has 10 bedrooms one with a four-poster bed. It's located halfway between the Lake District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park which makes it the perfect base for exploring both.

The Barbon Hill climb is held near by in the grounds of Barbon Manor, we have two race meets the first in June for formula one cars and the second in July for Classic cars, both are well attended with famous celebrities and Local celebrities alike.

This year will be our 14th anniversary. Our beer garden which has recently been altered and we can accommodate lots more people for al fresco dining. John Barnes and Jim Huddlestone laid a patio area in the garden by the entrance and we furnished it with rattan furniture which is comfortable and very popular.

We have created a warm and cosy atmosphere by opening up all the fires and burn logs in the cooler months this creates an atmosphere that only real log fires give.

“An unexpected delight”

We were given (as a Christmas 2015 gift) a voucher for a pub meal, the voucher not being accepted by any restaurant or pub within our local area. As a result, and in desperation before it expired, we were forced to patronise a venue far from our usual haunts, which required an 80-mile drive in foul conditions and which we...

We have stayed in a number of Pubs and quite a few in Cumbria but the Barbon Inn ranks with the best.
