Sleep well in great comfort
We have 8 beautiful, spacious and en suite bedrooms, each one a pleasure to return to after a good walk or a day out. Every bedroom/bathroom is individually styled, recently upgraded and refurbished but all provide a comfortable and luxurious nights sleep. The crisp white cotton bed linen and deep duvets make your stay feel somewhat decadent. Jan keeps the rooms clean and stocked up with Yorkshire tea, coffee, fresh milk, biscuits and a choice of herbal teas too. The bedrooms are on two floors of the house and each has a flat-screen television with DVD, hairdryers and WIFI.
The Perfect Breakfast
The lodge has a light and spacious breakfast room, where we serve a delicious breakfast (full Yorkshire – or full-on healthy) using locally sourced ingredients. We proudly display our suppliers names on the board and encourage you to visit them yourselves during your visit if time allows. Yorkshire is spoilt for high quality local produce. We know you love your traditional hearty plate of breakfast served fresh and hot from the kitchen but if you are with us for several days, we recognise that the fruit compote, homemade granola and natural yoghurt can be a welcome alternative too.
Other Rooms, Services and Facilities
Our Guest Lounge offers a place to relax by the fire with a drink and a newspaper or for a group to meet up for pre dinner drinks and a good old catch up before the short walk into the town for dinner. We are lucky to have such a wide range of good places to eat on our doorstep from intimate, stylish restaurants, bistros, exotic Indian and Chinese to classic pub grub and fish and chips.
Alternatively see our own dining option details if the fire is too tempting to leave.
There is a small casual bar in the corner, where you can help yourselves to complimentary tea or coffee any time of the day and in case you want something stronger, we also keep wine glasses, corkscrews and an ice bucket as well as lemons in the fridge, in which you are welcome to chill your own bottles of wine, gin and tonic or beer. It’s there for your use as is the piano – please feel free to fill the house with music or help yourselves to books or perhaps a game from the toy cupboard.
Time allowing, we endeavour to bake a cake or cookies most days for you to enjoy with a cup of tea when you get back from a day out.
Our Dining Room overlooks the Dales towards the historic town of Middleham with it’s castle and world renowned racing stables. Early risers may see a string of racehorses being exercised on the upper and lower gallops. This light and airy room filled with breakfast aromas in the morning can also offer a relaxed but more formal venue for an evening meal if requested for Exclusive Use groups. An informal fork supper in the lounge is also an alternative.
Our Maps & Information Room provides you with large scale local maps on the walls to help you plan your days whether on foot, cycle or car. Laminated route cards, OS/Harveys maps and a variety of attractions leaflets are available to use, as are reference books providing information on countless places of interest and stunning walks from easy local strolls to challenging hilly adventures.
Our Outside Facilities include a secure bike store, ample car parking, a drying room, outside toilet, external hose and boot cleaning area, a washing line and small lawn and garden with seating.
Our other servicesinclude specific dietary requests such as vegetarian sausages, oat milk or gluten free cereals requested in advance, a range of teas and coffees, WIFI throughout the lodge, a large drying room, ironing board and iron on request, travel cot and highchair on request, books and games cupboard, printing facilities at cost, bus timetables and taxi bookings, local knowledge and guidance on things to do, sweets on the dresser (with donation to the local hospice) and bespoke guided walking by advance request.
We have just enjoyed a fantastic weekend at Eastfield Lodge with a group of friends. Henry and Penny are the perfect hosts and bent over backwards to ensure everything went smoothly. Good choice for breakfast and all locally sourced ingredients. Two of our party are vegans, and I’m vegetarian. Henry and Penny made sure our dietary requirements were met with plenty of dairy and meat free choices. We had two evening meals here which were excellent. Two fridges are provided for guest’s use plus tea and coffee making facilities. Homemade cakes and biscuits (all vegan) were left in the hallway for guests to help themselves. Leyburn is a short walk away with plenty of pubs and very nice shops. Maps are available of the area for walkers. Henry and Penny made us feel very welcome and special and obviously enjoy what they do. If I could give this place 10 stars I would, as it’s one of the best Guest Houses I’ve stayed in. Highly recommended.
“A lovely place to stay”
What a lovely stay we had in a spotlessly clean, large and spacious room, very comfy bed and pillows, beautiful breakfast and happy friendly owners. We stayed for one night with our dog and it was easy access to lanes and pathways for those essential walkies in the morning and last thing at night. A short stroll from the town centre this is a real find and we'd stay again when in the area.
“Great Yorkshire Welcome!”
Stayed here just for one night as we were visiting Croft for the BTCC meeting. Penny gave us a very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the Yorkshire breakfast was excellent. Penny is a font of knowledge regarding the area and the lodge is well geared up for walkers and visitors wishing to explore, with a weather forecast noticeboard, maps etc. There's a communal fridge too which was a really useful feature. We would recommend Eastfield Lodge to anyone.
“food and wine festival”
Booked into this wonderful place for the wine and food festival, Penny ,Henry and all the team were nothing short of brilliant, the welcome with tea and cake was inspired, the rooms are warm and very comfortable, and the breakfast will certainly set you up for the day, the location is spot on as it is a few minutes walk to the town centre were there is plenty of pubs and restaraunts.I cannot recommend Eastfield highly enough we will certainly return.!!!!
We had a fun time, lots of walking and canoeing on the Ure from Ripon. Leyburn full of pubs and restaurants so plenty of choice, very friendly town. Eastfield Lodge is super - well appointed rooms and Henry and Penny are perfect hosts, will definitely return.
