We are also proud to be short listed in the Best Yorkshire Breakfast category of the Taste Awards 2016 run by Deliciously Yorkshire and The Yorkshire Post.
So while you enjoy our award winning breakfast, you will be pleased to know that…
Your eggs are Yorkshire eggs from Bedale delivered by our milkman;
Your milk is from cows grazing in Wensleydale at Townhead Farm, Askrigg and is delivered by Mr Kirkbride;
Your bacon, sausages and black pudding are from Hammonds in Bainbridge, Wensleydale or from Mainsgill Farm Shop; both use Yorkshire reared pigs. David, our supplier for the last three years, has gone to work for a butcher in Catterick and no longer produces his own sausages, bacon and black pudding but we've taken a lot of time in finding replacements which are locally sourced and just as tasty!
Your bread is homemade daily by Sheila;
Your fresh produce is delivered by The Good Life in Hawes or the local market or Campbells of Leyburn.
Your smoked haddock and kippers are from the award winning Port of Lancaster Smokehouse;
All jams, marmalades and lemon curd are homemade by Sheila. We grow our own blackcurrants, red currants and gooseberries then supplement supplies with produce off Leyburn market or from local contacts.
We offer an extensive breakfast menu to cater for all dietary requirements including vegetarian, vegan, gluten and dairy free. For those exploring Swaledale or beyond in need of midday sustenance, we are also happy to prepare healthy and wholesome packed lunches and fill vacuum flasks.
During your stay at our Swaledale guest house, you will be able to enjoy our complimentary afternoon tea or coffee and homemade cake which is served daily from 3.30 p.m. until 5.00 p.m.
