About Us
Having spent over 30 years in the hospitality trade the Ditchfield family took over The Craven Arms in February 2016. We did not want to move away from this beautiful area as our children attend local schools and we love living in the Yorkshire Dales.
So when The Craven Arms became available we soon realised it would be an ideal opportunity for us as a family to take on another challenge. We have refurbished and added a little of our personality into The craven Arms over the last two years and hopefully have succeeded in providing a warm, welcoming and friendly environment for our drinkers, diners and guests. But don't take our word for it - come and find out for yourself.

“Craven Arms”
A beautiful hotel and a fantastic restaurant. Everything has been done to the very highest standard. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. An excellent variety offered on the menu at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
“Beautiful location, hotel decor to a high standard and excellent service”
My friend and I stayed for 1 night, the hotel is in a lovely peaceful location. The hotels decor is to a high standard and the owners went out of their way for us ( Thank you for giving us a lift to the wedding.
“New addition to the menu is a real hit”
This restaurant is always pretty good but tonight was extra special. I tried a new dish which was truly divine. It was fillet of sea bass in a seafood and spinach sauce with a wonderful squid inked pasta, I only chose it because it looked interesting and it was just perfect. We actually had 3 courses each washed down with a bottle of English wine. The wine was most quaffable but for another 45p the New Zealand cabernet sauvignon would have been a better bet. No matter, a wonderful meal. The lads in the kitchen really know their stuff. We were beautifully looked after by Eddie and boss lady Lynne. So lucky to have such quality almost on our doorstep.
“A Great Find in the Yorkshire Dales”
We stayed her overnight on 14th August 2018 on a DBB basis. We were made to feel very welcome by the staff and our room was immaculate and very well equipped. Our evening meal was delicious and very well presented. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Breakfast was excellent and again staff very attentive and friendly. We can thoroughly recommend a stay here as you will not be disappointed.
“Delightful Sunday lunch”
We had lunch at the Craven Arms while visiting the Yorkshire Dales. The food was delicious. I had an enormous roast beef and Yorkshire pudding dinner with perfect roast potatoes and fresh vegetables on the side. The smoked salmon starter was also beautifully seasoned and the presentation was very attractive. The service was very quick and friendly but unobtrusive, which was great. Highly recommended.
