“Refurbished to excellence!! New owners have got it right”
Reviewed 25 August 2014
The food had just opened today so decided to have a nosey...the menu offers meals for all different taste buds and was shocked at how fairly priced everything was...dare I say it..cheap! In comparison to other hotel restaurants....so I assumed maybe the food was going to be ssourced fron a few micro chefs in the back...I was very wrong. Everything was freshly made..even the tartar sauce was made from scratch n one of the nicest I av tasted yet. Portion control wasnt an issue n there was plenty on everyone's plates. ..the deserts were to die for. Staff were all friendly and cudnt do enough for the customers. Even the manager/owner intriduced her self to the tables of guests and made everyone feel welcome. I will b telling my friends and family about the place and will certainly be going back. EXCELLENT!!! *****
"Nice to see an old haunt back on the map”
A lot of water has flowed down the nearby River Aire since the days when the Robinson Family first put Steeton Hall on the foody map and it was a coincidence that one of the sons was in attendance when we called to see how the newest incumbents were getting on.
The post-Robinson era has not been very successful for any of their successors and having raised a few eyebrows by taking on the challenge, the latest incarnation is being viewed with keen interest locally.
First impressions were pretty favourable and do not chime with any of the comments from Jackie L. There is a hint of willing, friendly staff still finding their feet, but the effort and the desire to please is obvious and on our visit the work in the kitchen was more than adequate.
The refurb has added a brighter note to the decorations, the ale selection was good in terms of variety and quality and there were enough customers on Sunday evening to suggest that the popularity is gathering momentum. We will certainly be visiting the establishment again on the evidence of this experience.

"First Visit under the New Management - Impressed.”
Called in today as, we were passing, just to have a look at what the new management had done to the place. The previous owners had let it run really downhill. The staff were very welcoming, the beer was good, so we decided to stop for a meal. The barmaid directed us to a light and airy newly refurbished conservatory area. It was a lovely sunny morning and the atmosphere in that dining area was extremely pleasant. In fact, my wife commented several times on the ambience of the place whilst we were there. The staff allowed us to order at our leisure from the varied menu. My wife ordered shepherd's pie and I ordered the pan fried liver and smoked bacon on a bed of herb mash. Both meals were well presented along with the accompanying individual pots of vegetables. There was not a drop left on our plates, the food was excellent and the portions were ample. We both then finished off with a dessert and we were highly impressed with every aspect of our visit. We shall certainly return, and recommend it to all our friends.
