We’re ideally situated for you to enjoy the countryside, and visit attractions in Yorkshire, Lancashire and Cumbria!
Each pitch has an allocated car parking space close by for convenience but in discreet bays to preserve that sense of rural peace. All customers have the convenience of metered propane gas (no gas bottles), metered electricity, cabled TV (Sky and Sky+ optional), and WiFi.
The riverside walk allows all to appreciate the beautiful River Greta and views to Ingleborough; an area where you can sit and dream, enjoy a picnic, or even a paddle.
Children will enjoy the playground and exploring the woodland, riverbank and stream (Jenkins Beck and Aspland Beck).
Our Games Room is popular (especially on those rainy days) with table football, pool and table tennis, as well as our library of books, videos, dvds and jigsaws. Here you’ll also find lots of useful information to help you make the most of your holidays. Wireless internet is also available on the park.
Your dog is welcome but must be well behaved and kept on a lead.
We are perfectly placed exploring the Lake District., the Yorkshire Dales National Park, and Forest of Bowland AONB. If you prefer the coast, then the diverse Lancashire Coast is within easy reach , including the attractions of Morecambe, or the elegance of Arnside.
The surrounding landscape allows you to enjoy the friendly atmosphere of country villages and market towns with their shops, pubs and restaurants.
You can go walking, fishing, pot-holing, cycling, birdwatching, pony trekking or playing golf. Fishing is available locally on a beautiful stretch of the River Greta adjacent to Parkfoot, excellent for salmon and trout.
At Parkfoot we take our responsibilities seriously and are committed to sustainable tourism. With the assistance of the team at the Forest of Bowland AONB,we were among the first in the north west to receive a Silver award though the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
We were proud of our achievement in gaining a Gold award in the David Bellamy Conservation Scheme and delighted with the comments of Professor Bellamy who said,
‘I take my hat off to you – you epitomise a really green park and are an important addition to the scheme’.
We have many ‘green initiatives’. These Include: recycling, well stocked library of books, videos, DVDs and jigsaws, solar panels, initiatives to encourage wildlife.
There are many natural spaces for you to enjoy at Parkfoot – beside the river and streams, the meadows and in the woodland areas. We have started an audit of the wild flowers that you can see here – in one hour on the 4th August 2013 we found 29 different species.
Season Our licence is for holiday homes to be occupied in the period February through to November each year.
